2013 LG&E Customer Service Piping Handbook
Effective January 1, 2013 LG&E is responsible for customer gas service piping. With this assignment, LG&E will be responsible for all plumbing tasks associated with all gas service piping upstream of the LG&E gas meter. This includes all gas service repairs, maintenance, installations, relocations, and replacements. LG&E’s customers will continue to be responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair, and replacement of all piping (house piping) that extends downstream from the LG&E gas meter.
Effective January 1, 2013, please advise any customer who contacts you to request any new gas service repair, replacement, relocation, or installation work to call LG&E at 502-589-1444 (outside Louisville at 1-800-331-7370) to arrange their gas service work.
LG&E understands that your Company may have an existing contract with a customer to perform gas service installation, replacement, relocation, or repair work. We certainly respect your commitment to your customers; it’s a value we share. Pursuantly, we are allowing a 90-day transition period (through March 31, 2013) for existing contracts for gas service work, so your Company can honor its commitments to customers.
LG&E has updated its Customer Piping Handbook, which outlines in more detail LG&E customers’ new responsibilities for gas service. Click here to download.
