Associate membership does not apply to builders, remodelers or those companies that pull permits.
Affiliate membership is for employees or additional contacts of an existing BIA member. If the existing BIA member cancels, affiliate members also cancel.

The Associate Builder/Remodeler Membership is open to any person whose business is the construction, remodeling or renovation of housing. Associate Builder/Remodeler membership can be applied for by persons who are unable to currently meet all of the conditions and requirements of the Registered Builder or Registered Remodeler programs at the Building Industry Association of Greater Louisville.
A Registered Builder is not simply a title that can be purchased and displayed on company vehicles and advertising. A Registered Builder is a professional designation granted to a builder who meets specific requirements.

National Affiliation: A BIA member is automatically a member of the National Association of Home Builders. NAHB is one of the largest professional trade organizations in the world. Headquartered in Washington, D.C., it has more than 200,000 active members and nearly 800 local affiliate associations. The NAHB represents the entire spectrum of services, contractors and suppliers who have an impact on residential and commercial living.
State Affiliation: Every member of BIA is also a member of the Home Builders Association of Kentucky, located in Frankfort. The HBAK focuses on housing issues and problems that are of significance from a statewide standpoint. They are heavily involved in all legislative matters that affect the home building industry and lobby on behalf of the industry in order to insure that the housing industry remains strong, healthy and viable.
All members must adhere to the Building Industry Association of Greater Louisville Code of Ethics.
