Building Industry Charitable Foundation Partnered with Kosair Charities and YouthBuild Louisville to Build Two Play Houses for Kosair Kids

LOUISVILLE, KY, May 22, 2012 – The Building Industry Charitable Foundation of the Home Builders Association of Louisville has teamed up with Kosair Charities and YouthBuild Louisville for the second year to build not one, but two play houses for deserving Kosair Kids. The homes will be on display for the public to view during the annual Homearama event, hosted this year at Rock Springs and Shakes Run July 14-29. One playhouse will be on site in each neighborhood.

Each play house is designed, built, and decorated especially for its recipient, with the child’s involvement at each step of the process. Registered Builders of the Home Builders Association of Louisville (HBAL) teamed up with local HBAL-members to create a play house that will not only enhance the child’s life, but also serve as a therapy-aide for continued strength and improvement to their quality of life.

River City Bank is the sponsor of the play house that will be built by Pat Durham, Pat Durham Builders, with interior design by Lisa Lynn Knight, Lisa Lynn Designs, which will be onsite in Rock Springs during Homearama. Jeremy Stull, Assistant Vice President of River City Bank said of their involvement with the project, “River City Bank is extremely excited to be a part of something so positive for these kids. It’s heartwarming to know that we, along with the many other people and organizations involved, can provide this family their very own place they can enjoy for many years to come.”

Brandon Bailey, Bailey Remodeling and Construction will build the play house on display in Shakes Run. Interior design will be provided by Liz Wilson, Liz At Home.

Homearama will take place July 14-29, 2012 at Rock Springs and Shakes Run. The Playhouses will be unveiled to the recipients during a ceremony held at the YouthBuild Louisville campus in late June.
The Building Industry Charitable Foundation built its first playhouse in 2011 and also partnered with Kosair Charities and YouthBuild Louisville. The play houses are a perfect project for the Foundation because it allows members of the Home Builders Association of Louisville to use their talents and expertise to not only build something special for a deserving child and family, but also share their skills with the students of YouthBuild Louisville by mentoring the young people involved in the trades program.
