Presentations to the Board

Politics

You heard the candidates for both gubernatorial tickets at our Summer Meeting, now hear how the race is shaping up just a few weeks before the election. Political pundit, author and commentator John David Dyche will be on hand to share with us his observations on this year’s Kentucky race for Governor.

Dyche is a graduate of Centre College and Harvard Law School and has done commentary for WDRB in Louisville and Kentucky Educational Television. He wrote “Republican Leader: A Political Biography of Senator Mitch McConnell” in 2009. You won’t want to miss his entertaining insight to politics in Kentucky!

Home Building

We have invited Louisville builder Vince Kimbell who has embarked on a campaign to create a rating on new homes for builders who use products made in America. Very similar to the already established Energy Star program this “Made in America Construction Initiative” would allow builders to earn tax credits if they qualify for the rating. Learn more about this program at the Fall Meeting

Workforce Training and Development

Can’t find labor when you need it? Many builders and remodelors have told us that they could have more jobs going if they could find quality workers.

Join the discussion as to what is happening around the state to educate framers, HVAC, Electrical and Plumbing Technicians and what more can be done to assure we can build what Kentucky homebuyers want!
