Community Impact
KI Lumber is passionate about giving back to the community. Each year, we proudly partner with the JCPS Build-a-bed Project, supporting families and students in need. We supply the lumber, train volunteers in construction techniques, and coordinate team leaders to ensure the builds are successful. While our major community event occurs in the spring, we also conduct smaller build events throughout the year to assist churches and nonprofit organizations.
Our Legacy
Founded in 1932 by Walter Freeman, KI Lumber started as a wholesale lumber operation connecting mills to retail customers in the Louisville area. Over the decades, we’ve navigated market recessions and housing crises, and we were thrilled to celebrate our 90th Anniversary in 2022. This milestone reflects our unwavering dedication to quality products and services, solidifying our position as a cornerstone in the lumber and building materials industry.
