At The Gracie, experience the full potential of indoor-outdoor living. This stylish, modern home blends indoor and outdoor spaces, beginning with the expansive front yard where friends and family can easily congregate. Nearly whole-wall glass doors open to bring the party inside, and along the back an inviting deck runs the entire length of the house. Packed with entertainment options, The Gracie is also the perfect spot for leisurely weekends with family.
This 1.5-story, 3,980-square-foot walkout with 4 bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms showcases large windows around every turn to display the gorgeous woodland view and allows natural light to pervade the airy interior living spaces and open floor plan. A double-height great room lined with windows, an entertainer’s kitchen, an owner’s wing and an indoor-outdoor fireplace are just some of the surprises The Gracie offers. A covered porch is yet another option for a relaxing sit-down with friends, and for a different kind of escape, the home theater provides plush seating for children and adults to catch the latest feature on the big screen.
Natural elements are incorporated throughout the home, beginning with the white painted brick exterior that displays trim details of western red cedar. HardiePanel accents and a frosted glass garage door underline the cohesive design of the home. Through the large glass front doors, beautiful hardwood floors pick up beyond the slate entryway, carrying throughout the first floor. The outdoor color scheme continues inside, with whites and blacks offset by warm wood tones, and occasional pops of color for a serene yet energizing feel that puts residents and visitors at ease.
The inviting, open kitchen is spacious enough to include a flexible living area to suit the changing needs of a busy family, and doors to the covered porch and rear deck make transitioning to outdoor spaces a breeze. Black matte cabinetry, luxurious light countertops and an intricately designed marble backsplash will prompt delighted comments from friends and family as they take a seat around the expansive island, and Thermador Pro appliances are ready to make any meal possible. Pantries and closets all feature custom storage solutions, making it easy to maintain an organized space, while contemporary lighting sets the scene throughout the home. Off the formal dining room sits a private side deck, perfect for after-dinner drinks in the cool night air.
The double-height great room, infused with natural light, features a custom steel stairwell with richly colored live-edge wooden treads — a striking blend of natural elements and modern design that will quickly draw admiration. Hardwood floors continue up through the second-floor loft space that overlooks the great room, which residents can use as another living space, office or study space. Upstairs, children or guests can spread out among three generously sized, carpeted bedrooms.
Once it’s time to retire for the night, residents can enjoy a secluded retreat in the owner’s wing, with lofty 16-foot vaulted ceilings in the bedroom and bath and custom-designed closets for two. An exit to the deck allows early-risers to quietly step outside to breathe in the morning air, perhaps with coffee in hand. In the master bathroom, filled with marble elements and natural light, another surprise awaits: When the time comes to step into the luxurious shower or soaking tub, simply hit a switch and a large picture window made of state-of-the-art virtual smartglass will frost over for privacy. Simple, yet stunning.
In the lower walkout, the basement entertainment zone is complete with a home theater, a high-top bar and a pool table, outfitted for afternoon or evening gatherings that children and adults will look forward to.
This contemporary craftsman home by Eldridge Company is packed with modern detailing and laden with character, signatures of the full-custom nature of any Eldridge home. The Gracie “has some of the key elements of a craftsman home, but it’s done in a much more contemporary, modern way,” said Chris Eldridge, builder with Eldridge Company. Emphasizing the outdoor space was intentional. “The view across the back of the house is incredible, so we designed for that view,” said Eldridge. Energy efficiency is also incorporated into the home, with walls, ceilings, roof and floor fully spray-foam insulated.
Organic textures and natural elements are also part of the décor, for a cohesive, organic feel with a contemporary edge. Designer Maria Leon-Johnson of Century Entertainment and Furnishings worked with the elevated nature of indoor-outdoor living at The Gracie to integrate the spaces and “make it feel very organic and very comfortable.” The design also includes exquisite wood detailing and showcases the work of local artists and artisans.
With so many unique spaces to choose from, residents may have trouble deciding which spot is their favorite. The Gracie invites people to experience what indoor-outdoor living can be, with spaces that offer ample opportunities to entertain, or to simply sit back and relax in the presence of a magnificent view.
