LOUISVILLE, KY, April 4, 2017 – The Louisville housing market is currently experiencing a shortage in existing homes for sale, which is driving homebuyers to new construction homes at an increased rate compared to previous years. The Tour of New Homes, April 29 & 30 from noon to 6 p.m., could not have come at a better time.
“Like a lot of the country, the Greater Louisville housing market has continued seeing an increased demand for housing and a shortage of inventory which drives home prices up, and more importantly makes it difficult for buyers to get in a home,” said Jeff LaGrange, Vice President, RE/MAX Kentucky/Tennessee. “New home construction can help alleviate the declining inventory pressures, and the Tour of New Homes is a great way to remind consumers that new construction homes are viable options and may be the right choice for them.”
The Tour of New Homes is free to attend, and is the area’s only scattered-site new home tour, making it Louisville’s largest open house for new construction homes. Homes featured on the Tour are in various stages for construction, ranging from furnished model homes to substantially complete homes with options for customization by the homebuyer.
“Our firm finds this event to be helpful in educating consumers in regards to ‘market homes’ available for immediate purchase and helping them make early decisions on houses to build,” stated Dave Parks, Broker/Owner of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices, Parks & Weisberg Realtors. “With low interest rates still available, now it is a great time to visit the Tour of New Homes.”
The Tour of New Homes utilizes the ParadeCraze app, which is available for free on Apple & Android devices. The free app enables Tour visitors to view a photo of each home, detailed home information and step-by-step directions to each home, making it convenient to include homes in a wide scope of styles and price points throughout the city. “The message that needs to be conveyed to homebuyers is that there is new construction home inventory available. The Tour of New Homes connects visitors to communities that have new homes available, as well as lots for new builds. Builders are eagerly waiting to build new homes for buyers,” explained Carol Weber, Managing Broker at Louisville Realty Group.
The Building Industry Association of Greater Louisville (BIA) produces the Tour of New Homes along with several other local events including Homearama, Home, Garden & Remodeling Show and Tour of Remodeled Homes. The BIA has produced quality events in the Louisville market for more than 65 years.
